i really have no clue what i should do to get my cam running, but if you can help me thatd be great.
Idk if this is the problem or im just really dumb because im just a newbie at this. If you notice in the above terminal output to the lsmod command, v4l2_compat_ioctl32 is what i assume to be my camera, its being used by videodev and videodev is being used by uvcvideo but uvcvideo, the driver i NEED to use is being use by nothing. Among the most interesting things about the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam is a capture function and the ability to create high-quality images at up to 1.3 megapixels. It is important to regularly update the driver, as there is a risk of lack of compatibility. This webcam driver package is for the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam (Bison Webcam) installed on Acer notebook (laptop) computers. Sie können die Webcam selbst nicht drehen, wohl aber den Bildschirm Ihres Laptops. Starten Sie die Software und nehmen Sie ein Foto von sich auf. The re-install failed because I needed to have Windows Media Player 11 installed. Die Crystal-Eye-Software bietet Ihnen die Möglichkeit, Fotos und Videos aufzunehmen, Sie können auch eine einfache Nachbearbeitung vornehmen. Went to Acers eRecovery Management program and attempted to restore Crystal Eye Webcam software v1.5. and still no, I'm trying to use the camera for an in-browser site called stickam. Restored Windows to the time before the webcam app upgrade, but the webcam software was still missing. so i built the v4l device driver because my camera comes up as V4L2. now then, i looked up the list of supported devices for the uvc drivers and my camera is on there. I installed the v4l drivers and they installed perfectly and still it doesnt lsusbīus 008 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hubīus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hubīus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hubīus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hubīus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hubīus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hubīus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hubīus 001 Device 002: ID 064e:a103 Suyin Corp.īus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Thanks very much for your efforts, I'll try this at the w-e and let you know.My webcam isnt working and i've done everything i could think of. That is some pretty complex stuff but if the "dmesg" did tell you the driver are working you can always just skip down to the section "If modules load correctly". In my couple minutes of searching I came across this page which might help. If the "dmesg" didn't yield the result of drivers or VLC didn't work, again, let us know. There is an application provided there (from Cyberlink) but IMAGE QUALITY is degraded Before I reformatted my laptop, the images that my Web Cam captures are very clear and doesnt have any noise but now image quality is lower.
If it is working at that point but not working in a particular app, let us know and maybe someone can help. I went to the Acer Driver page and an Acer HD Crystal Eye driver is not listed for Aspire V5 - 471G. Click the triangle next to it and if it gives you any option (for me it is /dev/video0 ) select that then lower in the window hit play. Try VLC - Ctrl+C should open capture device window. If it says uvcvideo has drivers in use for the cam it is at least installed and should work. Search for "webcam" by hitting Shift+Ctrl+F.
